After reviewing some of the basic rules of football, we are playing flag football in class today. Students will be given a guide sheet of different offensive strategies from which they can choose, or they have the option to run their own plays.
Basic Football Rules Review
1. The game starts with a kick-off.
2. Four downs to get a first down.
3. Points:
*Touchdown-6 points
*PAT (point after touchdown)-1 point
*Field Goal-3 points
*Safety-2 points
4. Line of Scrimmage- is an imaginary transverse line crossing the football field across its
narrower dimension, beyond which a team cannot cross until the next play has begun.
